About 1 month: For thyroid Ca a hemi or total thyroidectomy performed. Nerve dissection is usually bilateral to larynx and carotids are mobilized laterally. Trachea is usually exposed and as such healing to superior laryngeal performed. Depending on hemostasis during procedure clot formed may cause pressure. This can be minimized if drain had been left in place 24hrs. until wound dry.
