61 yr. female with tsh 12.23 (12 hr. fast). i supplement a few drops of atomized iodine transdermal. mom/sister have thyroid issues - take synthroid (thyroxine).

Hypothryroid: By definition you are hypothyroid, though it would be useful to know your levels of free T3 (liothyronine) & free t4. However, the most important question is if you have symptoms of hypothyroidism- see http://www.Stopthethyroidmadness.Com/long-and-pathetic/ iodine is usually fine but you will likely benefit from taking thyroid if you are symptomatic.
