I recently (5 days ago) had my wisdom teeth extracted and today, one of the stitches on one of the sites dislodged. should i be concerned?

No: Losing a suture is not uncommon following the removal of wisdom teeth. Some surgeons use resorbable sutures that are not removed and allowed to dissolve on their own.

OK: Not unusual to loose a suture, especially 5 days post-op. Do you have an appointment for suture removable? If not you probably have resorbable sutures that are designed to come out on their own. For your own peace of mind call the Oral Surgeon's office and report your current status. As they know your situation best, they will have an a personalized answer for you.
