Yes: The retina is upside down with the blood vessels in front of the light receptors. These are ordinarily not seen because the retina ignores constant stimuli. When you wake up, the light change and eye motion is inconstant and briefly the retina sees it as a new shadow which is the shadow of your blood vessels. Enjoy the show as it is normal.
