See dentist: Bleeding gums indicate active periodontal disease, that left untreated, can result in tooth loss. Periodontal disease has also been linked to increased risk of heart disease. You need to see a dentist to have a thorough examination and then appropriate treatment can be planned to improve your periodontal health. As far as the swelling on hard palate, that will also be examined.

See a dentist: Untreated gingivitis can advance to periodontitis and can eventually lead to the tooth loss and other health problems. If you notice a lump on the hard palate, consult your dentist to find out the source of the growth and determine what treatment is necessary.

Need exam: Bleeding gums dictate that you need to have a thorough cleaning and exam with a dentist. There you will be informed on thew severity of your gum disease and told what needs to be done. The lump on the palate my be a "maxillary tori," an outgrowth of the palate bone, and may be nothing. But it is always good policy to have it checked.
