A member asked:

Is it possible for multiple sclerosis to cause d dimer blood test to always come back elevated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Never: D-dimer is a marker for venous obstruction and other vascular issues, and is most helpful to me in evaluating pulmonary emboli, and brain venous thrombosis. It is NOT a marker for multiple sclerosis, and not associated with common co-morbidities.
