Can hiv results be innacurate? can any docs explain?

HIV lab tests: Sometimes indeed labs and the people that run the tests do make mistakes. I've noticed that only occurs in about 1 in 5000 times though. Sometimes your HIV numbers may 'bounce up & down' depending on what's going on currently with the patient. For ex, if they are fighting another infection like a flu bug, their HIV numbers might be 'off'. Hope you can talk to your doc or get an HIV/ID specialist.
