Gastritis: Gastritis is usually diagnosed based on symptoms, and if the symptoms resolve with acid blockers. If not resolving, you may be advised to have an upper endoscopy to take a look at the gastric mucosa and upper GI tract, and verify that this is, in fact, the correct diagnsis. You should definitely discuss with your provider.
