Not recommended: Topamax is a newer anticonvulsant that blocks voltage-gated sodium ion channels and not recommended for weight loss. Ask your doctor about QSYMIA (phentermine and topiramate). It is the combination of Topamax and Phentermine, unfortunately good effective medication, but many side effects.
