Get it Checked: If it is a dental problem, the pain you describe could most likely be either inflammation in your jaw joint or referred pain from a tooth. This type of pain, if it comes from a tooth, is typically a lower tooth but not always.Non dental source could be ear infection, etc. Start with a dental exam and go from there.

TMJ: Likely TMJ, which can be serious. Something more serious? You need an exam to know for sure. See a board certified oral surgeon for diagnosis. He can treat you, or refer you.
