Can you have a endoscopy procedure with a little cold and cough or would it be best to wait and do it at a different time?. i will be slightly sedated

No fever?: If you are on the tail end of a mild cold, you should be OK. We would be concerned about fever or a cough that is bringing up yellow or green sputum. If you feel as though you are getting sicker, though, definitely reschedule. You don't want to cause your system additional stress, or infect other patients and caregivers that you would be near.

It is best to wait.: Since the upper endoscopy is an elective procedure, it would be best to wait until your cold and cough have resolved. It is not worth risking the possibility of aspiration pneumonia or even bronchospasm. Have the procedure another day!

Wait: Assuming it is an elective procedure, done under sedation or combination of sedation and Propofol anesthssia for colonoscopy, it would be safer when you do not have respiratory symptoms.
