Sun : can damage eyes, just as it can damage your skin. Wear good quality sunglasses while in the sun.

Use sun protection: The eyelid skin can get sunburned, but the eyes don't respond to sun this way. Excessive UV exposure (welding, tanning bed, ski slopes) can cause flash burn. Over time, sun exposure is the leading cause of cataract and age-related macular degeneration, as well as skin cancers of the eyelids. Regular use of UV protecting glasses or sunglasses is wise.
