Excessive tanning and especially repeated sunburns are a risk factor for skin cancers, including melanoma, as you get older, but that does not mean it will happen. You should consult a dermatologist to better evaluate your particular risks and then you can develop an appropriate plan for monitoring going forward. It is good that you have abandoned tanning beds!
