Occasionally: Trileptal is typically used as a seizure medication. Occasionally, I have prescribed it for migraine prevention and to treat various painful conditions such as neuropathy. Some psychiatrists use it as a mood stabilizer...so, more for anxiety probably, than depression. It is not typically chosen unless many other medications have failed
