MOOD STABILIZERS: Both Lamotrigine and oxcarbamazepine are mood stabilizers such as depressive mood, they approved by fda for this indications, orginally they are anti-seizure medications.

They're Bipolar Meds: I suspect your dr. Believes that you actually have bipolar disorder, or a form of it. Your dr. Should be able to explain this to you and you do need to have that discussion. If you give antidepressants to someone with bipolar d/o, the antidepressants can make them worse. Also, the medications you named may also be used for anger and rages, something called: intermittent explosive disorder.

Trileptal: Not sure if u r taking antidepressants as well, but Trileptal can be used for anxiety accompanied by mood disorders, off label.
