Treat it: I see you are on Prednisone so your immune function is suppressed and you are on QC so I don't know how long you have to wait for surgery. An abscess wont clear with antibiotics it should at least be punctured and drained.

Abscess: An abscess should be incised and drained and if felt necessary by the treating physician you may need antibiotics. The only person who can answer this accurately is the doctor seeing you. Go back and perhaps the surgery date can be sped up. Good luck.
