Which anti psychotic is more preferred for acute mania mixed bipolar disorder aripiprazole or paliperidone?

Acute mania meds: Atypical antipsychotics have been increasingly used for (and gaining FDA approval for) acute mania. Both meds mentioned (abilify (aripiprazole) & paliperidone) are in this class and can be used to treat acute mania. Other atypicals are also used. Li, VPA, and some typical antipsychotics are FDA approved in acute mania as well. Talk with your doc to make the right right choice for your specific case :)
