A member asked:

Should you have general anxiety under control in comfort zones "home" before you start exposure to going outside and facing those anxieties? or will the exposure help you with all aspects of anxiety?

Exposure therapy: It's important to work closely with your therapist to design the right program for you. Some patients have so much anxiety, they don't really have a "comfort zone", at least reliably. Exposure therapy is meant to get you out of your comfort zone, little by little, so you can begin to face down your anxiety and ultimately triumph over it. It's got to get you out of a comfort zone to work :)

Exposure for Anxiety: There is no reason to not start the exposure work on your anxiety. Thinking you need to feel safe at home is really acting like anxiety is dangerous and you need to avoid or escape it. This sort of belief actually contributes to anxiety remaining a problem.
