Dizzy or lightheaded: must be distinguished. Your ears can look absolutely normal while in the throes of a violent attack of vertigo because your ears aren't the issue. It is the vestibular apparatus. Being transiently light headed is common with allergic type symptoms and the treatment with antihistamines and decongestants but vertigo is a wholly different thing treated differently. Good luck.
