Swollen bump: Chances are you have a draining tooth abscess or a gum abscess. In either case, the infection requires immediate attention. Return to your Dentist for appropriate treatment.

Swollen gum: What you describe is likely a local infection although it could be something else. What you need to do is to see the dentist who treated you to have it properly evaluated and treated. Don't wait, because if it is an infection. things can go from bad to worse quickly.
