Antibiotics: Pain is one manifestation of the inflammatory response of your body to the presence of bacteria causing infection. It may take longer to dissipate the pain than to eradicate the organisms since the inflammatory response may persist for a while. Assuming the antibiotic is in fact effective for your condition the pain should begin to resolve over the next several days.

Augmentin: Prescribed for a wide variety of infections. Doubtful that oral infection and armpit infection are related, just coincident. May take 48-72 hours to begin to reduce inflammation, at which time pain should begin to abate. Oral infections require more than pills to cure. See you Dentist to evaluate and properly treat your oral infection.
