Often but not always: It will often resolve that issue. However, sometimes this bursal pain is actually referred pain from the lower back.

Yes and no: Hip replacements change the joint mechanics so it may help the stresses that led to the bursitis and it may not. But it shouldn't, change your decision to have the surgery since it can be treated separately.
