A member asked:

About 8 months ago i had pid . i'm 3 days late and got a positive pg test. could i be at risk for ectopic pregnancy ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: One of the complications of pid is ectopic pregnancy. This does not mean that you will get an ectopic pregnancy. Rather it means that some women with pid will have had some scarring in the fallopian tubes which can prevent a fertilized egg from going to the uterine cavity. Generally there will be abnormal bleeding and/or pain. You certainly need to inform your OB of prior pid.
