A member asked:

Why do i need to give myself an enema before my prostate biopsy procedure?

Dr. James Lin answered

Because...: The presence of fecal material inside the rectum will not just interfere sound transmission so to impair the imaging quality of the prostate. But also make the rectum be more bacteria-rich environment so to increase chance of infecting the prostate. So, an enema accomplishes these two goals; our body can defend and life can live on without a hitch.
