Twist: If severe pain and symptoms with standing or the inability to stand or walk see a podiatrist. If mild tenderness or swelling wear a supportive sneaker, apply ice to the tender spot, advil (ibuprofen) or Motrin if tolerated and give it some time. If tenderness continues see a podiatrist.
