A member asked:

How frequently do anemics need blood transfusion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: Most often, the cause of the anemia can be found and treated. Especially if health is otherwise good, transfusion is best reserved for anemia sufficient to interfere with a person being able to do the basic things they enjoy -- being able to get around. Blood bankers are the only businesspeople who work hard to reduce demand for their product. Best wishes.
