Discuss with dentist: Often your dentist will rx the process with an antibiotic. An evaluation of where this originated & how it effects the existing teeth is important.

Depending : Depending on the tooth an abscessed primary tooth will require either extraction or pulpectomy (not pulpotomy!) an abscess (if it is tooth related) means the tooths nerve is dead. In order to get rid of the infection the offending tooth must be removed or the infected pulp tissue must be completely removed. Some dentists may put the child on antibiotics before treatment. See a dentist soon.
