I just wanted to know can mri of the stomach be performed instead of a gastroendoscopy?

MRI vs endoscopy: MRI is not a good substitute for endoscopy. Endoscopy can directly visualize subtle mucusal changes which may not be evident on MRI. Also, endoscopic biopsy can be performed for definitive diagnosis.
