A member asked:

Is there any other accurate test to gastroendoscopy. for oesophage and stomach check. and how can chest pain be linked to that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

EGD: Upper endoscopy is still the easiest way to directly evaluate the esophagus stomach and duodenum. A GI series only shows the outline of the organs on x-ray. Pill cams show the esophagus but are not very accurate in the stomach. Chest pain may be secondary to esophageal irritation from acid reflux or it may be secondary to esophageal spasm.
