Yes it can: Colonoscopy is a very important tool doctors have to screen and diagnose and treat colon problem including cancer like any other tool it could have a side effect or potential complication the worst is perforation which could be easily treated by surgery chance is less than 1% some statistic suggest one out of 500 hundred second is bleeding which could be stopped without surgery.
