Ask your: Doctor if any other antihypertensive med might be more appropriate, given your slightly depressed kidney function. I don't think any dietary adjustments will make any difference, but you should be careful with medications, including otc meds.

I am allergic to lisinopril AND losartan. I'm take amlodipine 10 mg. & hcz 25 mg. but it 's not controlling my blood pressure. Still too high. What should I be taking since they said metoprolol wasn't doing me any good. (It worked for 1.5 years.?
