I think you should: Ask these questions of your treating doctor. You might have another cause of pain, such as endometriosis. Torsion can happen at any time, but usually with larger cysts. Second opinions could be useful if your present doctor will not give you answers to your questions. But please remember that doctors are not fortune tellers and cannot predict what will happen in the future, just probability.

No second opinion: There are various causes of ovarian cysts. The most common is an ovulatory cyst which you have each month prior to ovulation. This cyst ruptures and you ovulate. Oftentimes there is a little blood that is spilled into the peritoneal cavity. This can cause pain which resolves. Other cysts can form and either torse or rupture. If you have severe pain that persists, you should be seen by your dr.
