Many possiblities: An ovarian cyst hurts due to the pressure of the fluid and the inflammation on the lining of the ovary. This will persist till the body resorbs the fluid. Bloating and sharp pain are normal for a cyst. Sever pain means a significant increase from the pain that took you to the ER in the first place. If your pain has worsened then see a doctor. If it is the same then give it time.
