Workup/Management: Your son's history of fixed airway obstruction which is extra thoracic may be due to a number of conditions. These include vascular, lymph node or mass compression of the airway. This may result in stridor and if it impinges on the lower part of the trachea, wheezing may occur. I would suggest an imaging study such as an MRI be performed.
