My 10 yr old son has had a sore throat/swollen glands for going on three days now. no fever or other symptoms. i dont see any redness in throat. rapid covid test negative. just complaining of constant sore throat. should i him checked by a doctor?

Strep throat is common in this age group. He should be seen by an in person Dr who can do a throat swab to test for specific bacteria with the rapid strep test. If positive, he can then be treated for this infection.

Also consider mono testing, soothing fluids may relieve throat pain. Ear infections and an allergic reaction may cause throat pain. Monitor temperature and please see your pediatrician. Watch for difficulty swallowing and breathing.
