CT scan: If a cyst is not a simple cyst, sometimes docs will do a ct scan of the pelvis to try to determine ahead of time the nature of the problem. Ovarian cancer is highly unusual in a girl your age, but borderline tumors can occur and having a gyn oncologist available can be important.
