A member asked:

How can they determine wheter a liver tumor is cancer or not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Scan and biopsy: Most liver tumors are metastatic and a primary such as colon or lung must be recognized first. Primary liver lesions such as hepatoma are secondary to hep c. Needle biopsy using sonogram or cat scan can help in making a diagnosis which usually needs histologic examination.
