Can a tender mass near the liver be caused by liver cancer or a small tumor?

Possibly: Most cancers do not cause pain. It really has to be pretty big to have symptoms. U have to see a physician to review history, symptoms, exam, x-rays, ct etc before the determination can be made. If u feel a mass, call ur doctor to be seen in person.
