Common problem: vaginal bleeding is a common problem due to the diminished estrogen hormone present. Estrogen normally maintains the vaginal lining. With decreased levels, the lining is thin and prone to irritation. The friction of intercourse can cause bleeding of this thin lining. Urinary bleeding can be confused as coming from the vagina. vaginal infections can also cause bleeding due lining irritation.
