Miscarriage : The HCG levels can rise quite high with a blighted ovum, but these levels do not rise normally. The level of HCG does not tell if you have a blighted ovum or what is called a missed abortion by some. If your HCG level is doubling every 48 hours in the first weeks of pregnancy, your pregnancy is most likely normal - if not, probably a miscarriage.
