Asthma: You must continue taking your asthma medicines/ inhaled steroid or oral and your bronchodilator . Antibiotics do not ease asthma attacks. It only covers for infection. If no better, need to go back to your doctor and re-evaluated before you get into status asthmaticus!

See specialist: Antibiotic does not help asthma. True brittle asthma is very rare. If asthma is not getting better, it is due to one of the following reasons: it is not asthma, poor medication adherence, poor inhalation technique and finally due to other co-morbidities. You will need to see a specialist asthma doctor - either an allergist or a pulmonologist.

Mgt: Infections may cause worsening of your asthma. It can take weeks for the inflammation associated with a flare up to improve. If you are having asthma symptoms, I would advise following your asthma plan and seeing your physician. I would also suggest following your temperature, and if you continue to have the symptoms of the infection while on antibiotics, resistance/viral infection are possible.
