It's complicated: As we age, we are prone to get basically arthritis of the spine, often referred to as spinal stenosis as well as changes in the discs between the spine bony vertebrae. Some have these changes earlier. If you have any arm or leg weakness, loss of control of bowels/bladder, then you will need to see a neurologist to further examine you and evaluate your symptoms in the context of the MRI findings.
