Probably not: Abilify (aripiprazole) is not FDA approved as a solo treatment for depression, and I don't think it would work well alone. In my practice, I prescribe it a lot for patients with major depression along with an antidepressant, and it seems to help quite a bit. Also in bipolar disorder, I prescribe Abilify (aripiprazole) with a mood stabilizer to help maintain stable functioning, and again, it seems to work very well.
