Hello : Hello depressed in philadelphia. In addition to having an antipsychotic effect the Abilify also has an antidepressant effect through the neurotransmitter dopamine. It is used as an adjunct with the pristiq (desvenlafaxine). Because you took yourself off of the abilify, you are no longer augmenting your antidepressant. Even though Abilify has side effects, it also can be very beneficial.
