How to know if i have vertigo or something else?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

True movement: By definition, vertigo is an hallucination of movement and can be the result of injury to the balance mechanism of the inner ear or the vestibular nuclei in the brain stem. The classical symptoms are the sensation that the room is moving, or that you are moving. It is not light headedness or unsteadiness. You must have a true sense that things are moving. Can last for seconds to hours.
