Can i be harming my baby if i take 20 mg of prednisone every other day for my hives i developed at the start?

Re-evaluate Plan: If your hives require 20mg of prednisone every other day to control you might want to see an Allergist to make sure you have maximized your treatment regimen. There are other less aggressive meds with fewer side effects than steroids that can get your hives under control. I would see an Allergist to provide further guidance. Prednisone is a category D drug so yes there is evidence of fetal risk.
