Off zyrtec (cetirizine) bc of skin testing tomor but currently breaking out in hives due to my chronic urticaria. even on my lids, can i take prednisone?

Yes: Just for a day or two if necessary to get skin test done. I am concerned that even if prednisone controlled your hives, you skin may still be too sensitive making it more likely to get a false positive reaction. I trust the skin testing is for other allergic conditions since it is rarely informative for chronic hives.
