A doctor has provided 1 answer

Syringomyelia: An incidental or asymptomatic syrinx is a common finding on MRI studies. They can be very difficult to see on a ct scan and may not be visible but still present. Comparing a prior MRI study with a current one is the best way to gauge the status of the syrinx.
