A member asked:

Can lyme disease be passed from mother to child during pregnancy? if yes, is it super rare?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Yes, but it is very rare. There have been documented cases where lyme disease was found in the live or stillborn child. Studies have not shown increased risk for birth defects in children of women who have lyme disease antibodies. At this time there is no specific congenital lyme disease syndrome.
