YES!!!: There is strong evidence that mothers with lyme disease can pass lyme disease onto their baby in utero, which can result in fetal death/stillbirth, or the baby being born with lyme disease (which may manifest as autism among other problems). Fortunately, treating the mother with antibiotics during pregnancy generally prevents the baby from being infected. Seek care from a lyme specialist.

Yes: Untreated, lyme disease can be dangerous to your unborn child. Lyme disease that goes untreated can also cause you to have brain, nerve, spinal cord, and heart problems. With early treatment, these complications can be prevented. If you suspect that you may have lyme disease, see your physician.
